I'm still here, I swear!

Between Vincent turning 1, job searching and creating my own website, I have neglected to post on my blog. The photos have been taken, just not updated. I guess I'll have a big post one day or I'll just extend my blog (which is the most probable solution).

In the mean time, check out the new website!

Ecko Couch Pillows

Dan had bought a new shirt from the Ecko outlet and realized once we got home that it was too big and the neck was large as well. No problem! I made new couch pillow covers to save the awesome print shirt......

If anyone else is interested in t-shirt pillow covers, just let me know!

Obscure Perspective

I've always loved the simple tones of a black and white photo. These were a few taken at a family members home.

A Party for Diem!

My brother-in-law just celebrated a birthday with his family, so I wanted to share a few special moments....

The Birthday Boy with his 11 month old, Jazzmyn.

Cousin Casey was in town with her 2 kids for a visit. She's pictured with the Segura Twins and cousin Vinny.

Whenever we get together for food, it's always a good time!

Gomez Family Birthdays

Dan, Vinny and myself had fun last weekend celebrating the birthdays of Laz, Sophie and Emma of the Gomez family. And I have to add that Orange County parks are the shiznit compared to Brevard :)

Laz assisted the girls when it came to opening presents, while Neela took pictures and enjoyed watching her family have fun.

Here we see Laz opening an Xbox game. Hey, we had to get rid of that huge box somehow....why not watch Laz squirm a little!

This was hilarious. After opening all of her gifts, Sophie decided she was done and took her bags and went home.

Check out more photos from their special day by clicking on my link to the Stef Jordan Photos Facebook page!

The Sandwich Bar-located on Robinson in the Milk District of downtown Orlando

Since this place opened in January of this year, Dan and I had been wanting to go have an awesome sandwich at The Sandwich Bar (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sandwich-Bar/153213618064416). It's located in the Milk District (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Milk-District/32535681822) which is on Robinson in downtown Orlando. (I took a few photos with my phone during our dining experience, but hopefully the owner will let me come back to take some really good photos. These pixely shots don't give the food it's appropriate justice!)

After hearing that Crooked Bayou was closing and learning that Matt Harris was opening a shop of his own, we figured it would be nothing less than excellence. The menu consists of vegan, herbivore and carnivore sandwich and appetizer choices. The sandwiches are nothing less than gourmet and of perfect portion size, their beer is micro, and the jalapeño hummus is absolute perfection. The inside may be small, but it definitely feels cozy.....with dim lighting and sweet tunes. I personally think the cork walls are pretty cool...

Dan (photo above) had The Pilgrim sandwich, while I indulged in the Greek Gobbler. On french bread, this beast had turkey, cucumber, jalapeno hummus, mixed greens, onion and avocado. (Below is the jalapeño hummus appetizer)

If you're looking for a new place to eat, you really need to stop by The Sandwich Shop on Robinson, behind T.G. Lee, in the downtown Orlando area. You won't be disappointed.

Tico Airshow

I've lived in Titusville for 22 years now and have never been to the Tico Airshow. My parents live so close to the airport that we've always just watched it from the backyard. So this year was my first time going along with Vinny. Click on my Stef Jordan Photos logo for Facebook to see more photos!

I'm On A Boat!

Ok, maybe I'm not on a boat, but someone here is! This was a beautiful day that I took head shots for a friend and couldn't resist capturing this awesome water and clear view of the VAB and the lightning protection system around Pad 39B.

Animated Palms

This started out as a black and white shot strictly used for metering my sky for the shoot for the day. I had a little fun with photoshop with it instead :)

Sippy Cup

Vinny is really starting to get the hang of the sippy cup now. He doesn't understand he has to tilt the cup so I fill it as much as possible so he doesn't have to try so hard. He's only 10 months and most kids don't totally grasp it until 12 months or so anyway. But we love watching his brain turn and try new things.

Kellyman Wedding

I had the honor of taking photos for a couple who got married at the courthouse, walked Lake Eola and then had an elegant dinner at Crave. I had fun shooting this for a friend who was already booked (thank you Jason!!!). This was a beautiful family and I had a great time capturing some memories for them.

Downtown Orlando in the Park

Here is another city scape from Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. I need to find a great spot to get some shots of the whole downtown area.

Walkin' Man

With steaks on the grill, Vinny had a blast in his walker running into, I mean, "helping" Dada.

Crave.

This is just a sneak peek at the project I've been working that's been keeping me from blog time. I shall have a larger reveal here soon and on Facebook. In the meantime, check out some more teasers by clicking on my SJP logo at the top right of this blog page.

A Day at Grandma's

This is the old wooden high chair that my mom used for me when I was a baby. I'm only 25, but this piece looks like an antique!

Gotta have the the Kool-Aid man sippy cup. OOHH YEAH!!

A Serious Case of........

Baby Jiffy Feet! And although our house is clean, little boys always find dirt. It's science.

A Walk in the Park

After a small crop and a little color play, I couldn't stop working with this photo. It looks like all of the photos in my mom's albums from the 70's. I'm going to do a project with photos like this for her birthday to put in the house....she loves this stuff!

Miami in Orlando

I took this yesterday at Lake Eola while waiting for a client. All I hear is "Drink all day, dance all night..."

Miss Caitlyn

On short notice, I was requested to do a shoot for a friend who is putting her daughter in a pageant this weekend. And unlike "Toddlers and Tiaras", I refuse to put airbrush and glow effects on these photos...and her mother agreed! And with only with a few minor color tweaks, you can see that she doesn't need those effects on her anyway. Thank you Caitlyn, you are one of these easiest kids I've ever worked with!

Pizza and Popcorn

I felt it was only appropriate to add in photos of pizza and popcorn after the beer post :)

This is actually one of my first and favorite shots from when I first purchased my camera. I have more but this was my personal best.

Smile For Camera presents Takeovr @ Roxy!

I had the opportunity to get out for an evening with Dan and go to Roxy in downtown Orlando on February 1st. With permission from Smile For Camera (http://www.smileforcamera.com/) management, I was able to snap away all night. I can't thank Kevin enough for putting us on the guest list and allowing me to bring my digital appendage!

Upon entering, it seems as though Roxy is a small room with a bar, a small dance floor with an elevated DJ booth and a few places to sit. But wait until 11 p.m. when everyone starts to pour in! Once the dividers are opened, and the crowd dances its way into the main room, all hell is let loose.....

Brightly colored lights.
Strobes.
Girls dancing on poles.
VIP guests getting crunk.
And slammin' DJ's playing dubstep and some of THE best music since your mom has been to a live Beatles concert.
So go ahead and sip on your free drinks, ladies. And guys, they didn't leave you hangin'. You can have $2 PBR's until 11:30, then they turn into $3 tall boys for the rest of the night. And for the few of you gangsta's, go ahead and carry around that 32 oz bottle of Old English.

I know it's been a while since I've been out, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. SO, if you get the chance, head over to Roxy on a Tuesday night for Takeovr! Oh, and "LIKE" Smile For Camera on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/smileforcamera?v=wall) for weekly events and to find out where to go to have your picture taken having a good time!!!!

STS-133: Final Flight for Discovery

Since I am a day or two behind I figured I'd share these.

This is the final roll out for the space shuttle Discovery from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. I was fortunate enough to accompany my father-in-law to the press site area near the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). It was a very clear night and I wish the Discovery a safe flight and return. The projected date of launch is February 24, 2011. See the link below for complete info:

How To Make Jiffy Pop!

1. Get excited to make Jiffy Pop.

2. Peel back the OPEN tab.

3. Turn over lid to view instructions.

4. Light gas stove to medium/low and keep package moving to make the contents evenly hot.

5. Allow the package to expand until you hear the popping almost stop.

6. Perforate the top with a fork to allow steam to escape and peel back the foil.
Now indulge in the late 1950's popping creation!

First Real Wedding

Back in November 2010, I had the opportunity to be an assistant to a photographer friend. The groom was her brother so this was a little more intimate of a shoot. It was a beautiful day on New Smyrna Beach and the ceremony went great!

Check out this link to see the full wedding and other shots from the photographer Hilary Westerberg!

It's Ok to Play With Your Food, We Promise!

We let Vinny play with his food for the first time and he wasn't thrilled. He was a little disappointed that apple sauce is cold and messy, although it's one of his favorite foods. And ultimately he ended up doing what he hates most....taking a bath.

Vinny's First Petting Zoo

A free, traveling petting zoo came to Titusville January 28-30th. We saw goats, llamas, ring tailed lemurs, ponies, a tiger, and a camel to name a few. Vinny honestly had a good time and actually pet a goat for the first time.

Self explanatory.......
