Missy

After about 2 years, I finally got my MakeUp Artist back in front of the camera...which is where she was before she became my MUA :)  Our major intention was a fun day of head shots and silliness, but I did get some pretty good shots. My only edits to this shot were some contrast tweaks.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

Dan and I have been trying some new dishes and making more home made food. Last night he made southern friend chicken sliders, so I made mine buffalo style and his traditional with ketchup and mayo, with fries and a soda on the side.

While Dan made dinner and it poured outside, Vinny posed for several photos but this one was my favorite. He's really starting to look more like Dan now and has been trying to put both feet on the ground to stand up. It's getting harder to get still photos of him!

The Ankh

I'm still working on photos from my shoot yesterday with Anthony and Dan brought this to my attention. I was planning to crop out the tree line and he glanced at it and said "Whoa, that's kinda cool. It looks like the ankh." 'Tis very interesting....

Anthony Grayson Jr. Silhouette Shoot

Anthony has an amazing talent for dance. He has very precise technique with the most awesome lines for a male I have ever seen. He has a great personality which made this shoot even more fun. I will have more posted on my website soon. I just had to get this out. I really feel I captured a part of his essence in this shoot today.

BBQ Pork Chops and Shock Top

Dan makes awesome food, but one of my favorite meals he cooks is pork chops on the grill with a smooth, frosty glass of Shock Top.

Slurpee!

Vinny had his first real taste of a Coke Slurpee today. I left him to sit in his high chair for a few minutes after and he had a bit of a baby rage, throwing his hands up and leaning toward the table to get another taste!

Criss Cross Baby Applesauce!

One of the things I looked forward to after having Vinny was making food for him. It honestly sounded like fun...and it kinda is! Since I made the dog something yesterday, I needed to catch up on making Vinny more food today. I hadn't tried applesauce yet, but with all of the ingredients being apples, lemon juice and a dash of brown sugar, I figured I couldn't mess it up. Now, Dan isn't usually a fan of applesauce, but he tried it today and it really caught him off guard. So, I guess I made something good out of a rainy MLK day!

TJ's Snacks

I came across an old Czech heritage recipe for dog treats. I made some for my dog and she loved them! I had so many left from the batch that I gave some away during the holidays season. The dogs of the families I gifted them to also loved them. So, today I made 3 different batches, each their own flavor. I may be on to something here......
If you or anyone you know would be interested in trying some for your dog, let me know. I'm doing a free trial before I work on marketing them.

Chocolate Chip Cookies by "Dan the Man"

The easy bake cookies have become a weekly thing in our house. Who cares if it's full of sugar? We don't!

Weebles, Dogs and Babies

Losing internet at home doesn't help when I like to update something daily :) I hope this makes up for it....

It seems little Vinny favors Weebles these days. My mom and I came across these a few months before Christmas and I figured they'd be a simple stocking stuffer, which they were. I never imagined my son would fall in love with these ancient toys lol.

There isn't much to say about a bond between a man and his dog. Tanya is a small lab mix who will be 4 this year. Need less to say, she won't let me do this with her....only daddy.

I had a small shoot with Vinny and the toys he got for Christmas. This one was one of my favorites. He apparently thinks the bear is going to come after him.....

And finally, this is Vincent at 8 months old. Happy 8 months of life, Bubba!

Neighborhood Osprey

Within the past 2 weeks, we have had a family of osprey call our neighborhood home. Taking our dog out for a walk in the evenings has become challenging when the babies swoop down at her. I took this shot this morning from my front door step as this one is perched in the tree next door.

Thank You Doug

This happens to be a friend that I've watched grow from a young theater kid into a vibrant young man. His name is Doug and he asked me to do his head shots on Sunday before taking off to Los Angeles on Monday morning to try to make his life work. I hope he has a safe trip and the best of luck to you!

Farewell 2010 Holidays!

(click photos to see full resolution)

What better way to say goodbye to the holidays with no other than a good 'ol fashioned tree burning and a live band! This is only a small glimpse of the 3 day party celebrated each year at the Feldt abode. This year is the 21st annual TGTHAFFOP (Thank God The Holidays Are Finally Freakin Over Party) and still going strong.
With the death of a close friend to the family, this year's party was dedicated to him. A tragic motorcycle accident took his life but he was definitely celebrated this weekend. A poster of photos and a t-shirt signed by everyone who came will be sent to the family to show how much he will be missed.
On another note, this was Vinny's first live show and big party. He was very well behaved and we received compliments on how adorable he was all night. He really seemed to enjoy the music and both fires burning.
The one thing we look forward to each year is the food. Oh the food! The first night was Busch chicken and baked potatoes. Tonight there were tacos, ribs, pasta salads, baked potatoes, cake and other little sides. I wonder what will be out for tomorrow since it's the final night. Since we live around the corner, we don't have to worry about dinner for 3 nights!
This party is definitely something we look forward to each year. It just has that welcoming, hippie feeling. So it doesn't matter if you don't know anyone when you get there, you can talk to anyone. There are no fights, no ill intentions and yes, bring the kids! There are plenty of youngins running around playing flashlight tag and scaring each other in the dark.
At the end of the night, go ahead and camp out in the back yard. There is a small camper and plenty of tents to share.

Sunset

One of my favorite parts of Earth are her sunsets. The more beautiful the sunset, the better it makes a day feel. Whether the day was wonderful, lonely, or hectic, I can always look at the sunset and feel warm and comforted. Although I prefer a North Carolina sunset, I guess I'll settle for an orange and blue Florida sunset :)

Day 6, but not a resolution

This will give me the excuse to pick up my camera daily and see my own progress through a year. As in the subject, this is not a New Year's resolution so if I fall behind a day or two it's because my life came first :) I hope you all enjoy a photo a day, whether it be food, pets, my son or just what I've done for the day.
